VIPER is one of the major European film, video and new media
festivals. It offers a highly-regarded platform for presenting
innovative works and projects attracting Swiss and international
filmmakers and producers, artists, curators, critics and purveyors of
ideas from the media, research and politics. In addition VIPER's
International Forum provides an up-to-date podium for presenting and
discussing forward-looking positions, models and scenarios - a
Think-and-Do-Tank for 21st century media, culture and society.
 OrganiSation
Since 1980 VIPER has been organised annually by the
association of the same name (President Luigi Kurmann, Gallery
Mai 36 Zurich). In 2000 the head-office moved from Luzern
to Basel.
MANAGEMENT For the planning and organisation of the festival VIPER holds an office throughout the year. Artistic and
managing directors:

Immediately before as well as during the festival VIPER employs temporarily approximately 80 persons.
ADVISORY BOARD Since 2004 VIPER has been building up an advisory board, which supports the aims of the festival. FINANCING VIPER is financed and equally supported by following areas: - Federal and regional subsidies - foundations and private initiatives as well as earnings - sponsoring and co-operations as well as media support. |
